چکیده

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF DPSK/DS-CDMA SIGNALS OVER NAKAGAMI RADIO FADING CHANNELS by Ali A. Jamous Chairman: Dr. Ibrahim Ghareeb Direct sequence (DS) based code division multiple access (CDMA) with differential phase shift keying (DPSK) modulation is an active area of research and has taken on a significant role in recent cellular and personal communication systems. Two basic problems are of major concern when considering such systems in wireless radio channels, which are multipath fading of the radio channels and interference from other users in a CDMA environment. Nakagami distribution is one of the most popular statistical models that is used to describe the fading envelope of the received signal from a multipath fading channels and includes as special cases Rayleigh and one-sided Gaussian distributions. Diversity and diversity combining techniques are used extensively in such fading channels to combat the effect of fading on system performance.
